Krista Madden, Special Speaker, shares "Kids Baking Program" - 03/19/2018

The Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis had a packed fun-filled hour at their weekly Thursday morning meeting. Krista Madden, owner, Krista's Cheese Kakery shared with club members the program she provides for children - introducing and educating them to baking.

Dan & Jan Stuckey, The ARCHway Institute, Special Speakers - 03/08/2018

Dan Stuckey & Jan Stuckey were the special speakers at the Thursday morning (3/08/2018) meeting for the Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis. The Stuckey's shared the vision and programs available through The ARCHway Institute - working with individuals suffering from additive diseases. For more information:

Over $400 Raised for the 3rd Annual Duck Race & KIDFEST - 03/02/2018

Special "Thanks" to Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis members, Mark Kemeny and Kathy Kemeny, Founders/Owners of Just Counters & other stuff, who supported the 3rd Annual Duck Race & KIDFEST at their recent 15th Anniversary party. Sunrise Kiwanis members Connie Thrasher, Brandi Fassett Ball, Donna Listenberger and Paul Listenberger raised over $400 from guests. Sunrise Kiwanis members, Herb Isley and Leslie Miles Isley , better know as the Armadillo Band provided the music. 

Charlotte Prep Builders Club Raises Funds for Peace River Wildlife Center - 03/02/2018

Charlotte Prep Builders Club, sponsored by Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis, held a Recycling Project as a Fundraiser for Peace River Wildlife Center - PRWC located at Ponce De Leon Park. A trailer was parked at Charlotte Prep 365 Orlando Blvd, Port Charlotte, on Wed. February 28th, and Thurs. March 1st. and donated supplies were dropped off and filled the trailer. Peace River Wildlife Volunteers and "Ambassadors" shared with the students to thank them for their efforts, and educate them on the animals, and the care they provide. Publix made a donation to the club, so the students that participated also received an ice cream treat at the end of the day.

"Shoes F!or Kids" FUNDraiser will "Fill the Boat" March 3rd - 02/27/2018

Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis begins its annual Shoes For Kids-Sunrise Kiwanis collection and donations campaign. Join us at the NAVIGATOR GRILL (Just east of Lake Suzy off Kings Highway in Desoto County) for this Saturday's FUNDraiser. Last year Sunrise Kiwanis collected and distributed over 6,000 pair of shoes to our needy school kids. Bring a new pair of kid's tennis shoes and "Fill the Boat!" Paul Roush will be the featured singer!

Mary Ann Mize,Maryann Mize, CCIM, Senior Vice President/Senior Credit Officer at Charlotte State Bank & Trust in Port Charlotte, Fla. was the Special Speaker at the Thursday morning ( 2/22/2018) Sunrise Kiwanis meeting. With nearly 30 years in commercial real estate, she's had extensive experience in several facets of commercial lending including industrial, office, development, multifamily, and hospitality. Mary Ann gave a detailed overview of the Real Estate and Commercial activity in Charlotte County.

Chris Hall, Green Dot Program Director Charlotte County Share Details - 02/19/2018

Sunrise Kiwanis Members Sort Thousands of Books for "Just One Book" - 02/19/2018

Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis Club members  recently met and sorted by grade level, label, and boxed up thousands of donated books. They will soon distribute 57 boxes to groups and organizations around Charlotte County to distribute to needy kids. The Children's Book Collection called "JUST BOOKS" was a joint project by the PC Sunrise Kiwanis, Key Club and Builders Clubs in the Port Charlotte area.
